When designing the team issue titanium hammer, Abbey's inspiration, and their main clientele, was the traveling race mechanic - a unique breed with some very specific needs. When traveling as a mechanic tools that are lightweight and/or compact can lighten the load while creating space for another tool that may have otherwise been left behind.
Team Issue
At 265 grams, the 12" Team Issue Titanium Hammer is about half the weight of a ballpeen hammer of similar size. The soft rubberized side is replaceable with commonly available 1" threaded faces. A durable custom ESI grip ensures comfortable and secure use, while the shaft and head are elegantly bead blasted with a laser-etched logo.
Shop Hammer
The Shop Hammer has a heat treated 1.5" (38mm) stainless steel head and 12" long handle with the same silicone grip from ESI as our Team Issue Hammer. Weighing in at a respectably stout 20oz (566g) they are sure to make short work of setting crown races and removing press fit bottom brackets.
Hammer comes standard with green soft face. Brass tips are also available.
