Praxis Works made quite the splash when they first began producing their high quality, performance oriented chainrings. Due to their meticulous attention to detail and superb construction, each chainring produced by Praxis Works performs better than many of the aftermarket options available. Beginning in high performance road markets, Praxis Works has since filled out their collection of products with options for more niche markets. The Wave Tech CX Chainring is a redesign of their already popular cyclocross single chainring. Utilizing Wave technology pioneered by MRP for active chain retention even in the most severe riding conditions. While getting a slight aesthetic face lift the most noticeable change is the new tooth profile. With similar characteristics to existing Narrow Wide tech on the market, Wave technology boasts the same chain retention properties while simultaneously providing space for mud and debris shedding. By applying alternating lateral force to the inner plates of the chain, Wave accomplishes the same chain retention as narrow wide with less friction and better performance in adverse conditions. Ideal for a sport where chain retention is a must and mud is often unavoidable, the Wave Tech CX ring offers a perfect solution for every rider looking to ditch a double chainring and front derailleur system. Praxis recommends the use of a clutch type rear derailleur with their CX rings, if a clutch system is not available Praxis advises the use of a guide retention system.
