Sapim Laser J-Bend spokes are an ultralight double-butted stainless steel spoke designed for high-performance wheel builds where weight savings and durability are both critical. With an aggressive 2.0 - 1.5 - 2.0mm profile, Laser spokes reduce material in the center section to save weight while maintaining strength at the ends where stress is highest.
Manufactured using Sapim’s cold forging process, Laser spokes offer excellent fatigue resistance and long-term reliability. They provide a lightweight alternative to heavier round spokes, while avoiding the added cost of bladed designs like CX-Ray.

Best For
Best suited for lightweight road and gravel wheel builds where minimizing rotational weight is a priority. Sapim Laser is ideal for climbing wheels, performance road setups, and lightweight builds that do not require the added stiffness of thicker spokes.
Compared to Sapim Race spokes, Laser spokes prioritize weight savings over maximum durability. Compared to Sapim CX-Ray spokes, they offer similar weight at a lower cost but without aerodynamic benefits.
Wheelbuilding Notes
The thinner 1.5mm center section increases elasticity, allowing the spoke to better absorb load and improve fatigue life. However, due to the reduced cross-section, these spokes are best suited for lighter riders and lower-load applications.
For increased strength or stiffness, consider Sapim Race spokes or Sapim CX-Sprint spokes.
