Take a peak at this sub 10lb Extralite build, with a power meter.
One of our customers recently decided it was time for a new bike. He had one special request......make it sub 10lb. So what do you do when someone requests a sub 10lb road bike? You pull out all of the stops, and deliver something truly special. Have a look at some pictures we snapped after we got it all built up, and check out the complete build list at the bottom.
The Extralite SCR-058 frame was the starting point for this build. The frame is an unpainted, 3k weave, with just a thin coat of gloss on the downtube for the name. Size 58cm, the frame all by itself is an impressive 617.6 grams.
All of that black makes for a very handsome 'stealth' build.
The cockpit is a healthy mix of Extralite and MCFK
Gotta love that top cap.
The 'Hyper Spacer' was our headset spacer of choice. Made from polyamide and 3D printed, the perfect small part to shave some grams.
One of the newer offerings from Extralite, the 'Hyper Saddle' is just 46 grams.
This seat collar is just a little bit mind blowing.
Wheelset is the Extralite Carboclimb A25t with Berd spokes. Skewers are the Extralite Streeters.
THM Fibula brake calipers.
Drivetrain is mechanical Sram Red 11, with THM Clavicula SE Power Meter cranks, Extralite 50/34 chainrings, and a YBN ti chain. Cassette is a Recon one piece 11-30
Alligator I-link always adds a touch of class in the housing department.
All said and done this beauty weighed in at 9.6lbs, which is mighty impressive considering the crank has a power meter.
