Scott Addict RC HMX SL: An 11lb. Tailored Build

Scott Addict RC HMX SL: An 11lb. Tailored Build

Can we do a tailored build that is lighter, and more exotic than the stock version? The answer is yes. Come look!

The Scott Addict RC has been a popular custom build here as of late, and they have proven to be a pleasure to do a fun light weight project with. The other day we did a build with the objective of building one that was lighter than complete stock bike from Scott.  Have a look at some of the completed pictures below, then head over to our YouTube channel for an in depth breakdown of all the parts used and the build.

'Sun Beam Black'

We stayed with the Syncros one-piece bar and seat post on this build.

The one-piece looks seemless with the top cap cover and spacers.

Dura-Ace Di2. Hollow carbon bar ends. Foam tape.

The MCFK Open Carbon Saddle.

THM Clavicula SE crankset.

Extralite Octaramp Chainrings and SLR 3 Cassette.

We stayed with a really nice wheelset. Extralite SPD-3 hubs, laced to Schmolke rims with carbon spokes.

Panaracer Agelist tires, and KCNC Kasditor rotors with Ashima alloy rotor bolts.

At the end of the day this bike was a touch over 11 pounds, and much more fun parts-wise that the complete stock bike. Beleive it or not, it was also about $25 less than the stock version as well.
