Pillar Mega Lite spokes are an ultralight bladed spoke designed for high-performance wheel builds where weight and aerodynamics are both critical. With a ~3.5–3.8g weight and a 1.3mm center section formed into a 1.7 x 0.9mm blade, they deliver low rotational mass with aerodynamic efficiency.
Compared to traditional round spokes, Mega Lite reduces drag while maintaining strength at the hub and nipple interface, making it a strong option for lightweight road and climbing-focused builds.
Features
- Ultralight bladed spoke (~3.5–3.8g)
- 1.3mm center section for reduced weight
- 1.7 x 0.9mm blade for aerodynamic efficiency
- Stainless steel construction with high fatigue resistance
- Available in J-Bend and Straight-Pull configurations
- Designed for performance road and climbing builds
Best For
Pillar Mega Lite is best suited for lightweight aero wheel builds where minimizing rotational mass is a priority.
Ideal for climbing wheels, performance road builds, and riders looking for a lighter alternative to traditional bladed spokes.
For a more established aero option, consider Sapim CX-Ray. For increased stiffness in high-load builds, choose CX-Sprint. For a more durable everyday option, view Sapim Race.
Wheelbuilding Notes
The thin center section increases elasticity, helping the spoke absorb load while maintaining tension. This contributes to improved fatigue life in lightweight builds.
Due to the reduced cross-section, Mega Lite is best suited for lighter riders or performance-focused applications rather than high-load or impact-heavy riding.
