This Open U.P. build explores the real-world compatibility of SRAM AXS wireless shifters with Shimano’s 12-speed drivetrain. Featuring Carbon-Ti hubs and chainrings, Enve G23 rims, Lightning cranks, and a Cane Creek eeSilk+ seatpost, it balances road-speed gearing with gravel-ready low end. The result is a clean, functional, and truly versatile bike weighing just 15.81 lbs.
Recently we had the chance to build a truly unique ride. A flat bar road bike that checked all the boxes in terms of style and lightness, while also being able to serve its main function as a townie to cruise around town on. Using an Open MIN.D frameset as the starting point, we were able to put something together that does not disappoint.
A lovely green S-Works Aethos, perfect for long rides and climbing picturesque mountain passes. We had the pleasure of building this one up with a Sram Red AXS groupset, and a robust wheelset ready for the long haul. Not a weight weenie build in the least, but absolutely race ready, weighing in at 6.9kg (15.21 lbs)
With a custom frame from Crumpton Cycles, this sweet road bike frame combines the highest quality carbon fiber and almost two decades of master frame building knowledge and experience from Nick Crumpton.
Built in late Nov, 2022 with Enve's newest aero integrated frameset, the Melee, this road race machine was built for someone who already had a hill climb road bike and wanted something all around fast.
