Extralite CyberRear SPD-3+ Road Disc Hub

The Extralite CyberRear SPD-3+ is among the lightest road disc rear hubs in production, weighing just 140–146 g depending on freehub standard. Machined in Italy from aerospace-grade 7075TX aluminum and Grade 5 titanium, it blends ultralight construction with durability for competitive road disc builds.

Its straight-pull, cross-laced spoke interface equalizes tension and enhances lateral stiffness under power and braking. The freehub body uses a dual-pawl mechanism with a 32-tooth drive ring, delivering fast engagement and efficient power transfer.

Extralite’s micro-tuner system enables precise bearing preload, ensuring zero play with minimal friction. Available with stainless steel or ceramic bearing upgrades (HDC or XD15), the CyberRear SPD-3+ is EN-tested and approved for riders up to 200 lbs (90 kg).

SERVICE

Due to the lightweight construction of Extralite hubs, it is recommended that service be performed at frequent intervals to ensure proper function and the longest possible wear life of the internal components. Detailed service instructions can be found here. We recommend Extralite's Alugrease or Buzzy's Slick Honey for proper and effective lubrication of the seals and freehub mechanism.
