The Extralite CyberRear SPD-3+ is Extralite’s ultralight straight-pull rear road disc hub, designed for premium disc brake wheel builds where low weight, fast engagement, and serviceability matter. Machined in Italy from high-strength 7075 aluminum with Grade 5 titanium components, it delivers a refined balance of minimal weight and long-term performance.
The straight-pull hub shell uses a cross-laced spoke layout with 2.8 mm spoke holes for improved spoke support and wheel stiffness. A 32-tooth dual-pawl freehub mechanism provides quick engagement, while Extralite’s Micro-Tuner bearing preload system allows precise adjustment for smooth, play-free rotation.
Available with stainless steel, HDC ceramic, or XD15 ceramic bearing options, the CyberRear SPD-3+ is built for custom road disc wheels where every detail is selected for efficiency, weight, and reliability.
Service & Maintenance
Regular inspection, cleaning, and lubrication help maintain smooth bearing performance and reliable freehub engagement. Extralite hubs are built with extremely close tolerances, making routine service especially important for long-term performance.
Detailed service instructions are available in the CyberRear SPD-3+ service manual.
For lubrication, we recommend Extralite Alugrease or Buzzy's Slick Honey.
Compatible Freehub Bodies
The CyberRear SPD-3+ accepts Extralite CyberRear freehub bodies for Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, Campagnolo 11 / 12-speed, and Campagnolo N3W cassette standards. Replacement freehub kits are available separately for drivetrain conversions or routine freehub service.
Wheel Building
The CyberRear SPD-3+ is designed for lightweight custom road disc wheels using straight-pull spokes. Proper spoke selection, tension balance, and lacing technique are critical for achieving the intended stiffness, durability, and ride quality.
For spoke length calculations and lacing details, refer to Extralite's Cyber SPD3 hub lacing instructions, or contact us for custom wheelbuilding assistance.
Compatible Components
Complete the wheel system with the matching CyberFront SPD, maintain drivetrain compatibility with CyberRear freehub body kits, and service the hub with Extralite hub small parts.
